Saint-Emilion, a town known for its rich heritage and gastronomy, is full of treasures and the Bordeaux Visite team will take you to discover them in one day.
1st part of the day.
First of all, let yourself be transported during a guided tour of the monolithic church, one of the town’s flagship monuments. Being the largest Europe’s underground church, it will carry you throughout the centuries. From the top of its 196 steps, this church’s bell tower is the highest point in Saint-Emilion, which will enable you to finish this visit with a stunning view of the entire landscape.
Then, fly away with La Ferme du Ciel company which will take you to discover the vineyard aboard a hot-air balloon, giving you thereby another point of view of this patrimony. At the end of the « Vineyard » flight, a picnic is served with a Grand Cru from Saint-Emilion and local products.
2nd part of the day.
After the picnic, go to the Tour du Roy, which is the only Romanesque donjon still undamaged in Gironde. From the top of its 32 meters, the tower also offers a beautiful view of Saint-Emilion.
Stroll then in the small typical alleys of the town to discover charming little squares. Do not hesitate to enter a shop selling macaroons, which is one of the town’s culinary specialities!
Finally, finish the day by visiting one of the many castles of the region such as château Hautes Graves du Rouy, château La Dominique, château Bernateau, and so on. These estates offer a guided tour as well as a tasting.
